18 September 2026 – Lake Kariba
On 18 September 2026, PJM Rescue was contacted by a paid-up member requesting assistance following a fatal incident involving an elephant.
PJM Rescue responded by transporting members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) to the scene so that the necessary investigations could be conducted.
Once the ZRP investigation at the scene had been concluded, the deceased was transported back to Kariba in the presence of the ZRP.
Conditions on the lake were rough, but the PJM Rescue vessel handled the conditions well and all persons on board were safely returned.
